“Wake up guess whose birthday it is today?” my father asked sarcastically as he pushes me out of my warm bed.Barley mobile, I said sleepily, “mine, now go away!” while throwing a pillow at him.
“but, I have a special surprise for you downstairs, so hurry up and get ready,” he said as he ran out of my room.
Sighing, I sluggishly got my favorite pale cherry cotton tunic that I got while we live down south and quickly got my hair untangled while getting my pink scarf on as well. Walking down the stairs, I was bout to enter the den when I heard a strange voice. I quickly stopped and tried to hear through the wall who it was.
“Are you sssure your daughter isss able to be in thisss opportunity,” the stranger said.
“What. . . Oh, yes of course sir. She will trust me,” my dad said to . . . It.
“What opportunity,” I thought to myself.
“The uniting of our two familiesss will sssurly bring nothing but blessings Mr. Fallsss,” he replied coldly.
“All of a sudden a shiver went up my spine as I saw a fuzzy vision of a wedding. Then I realized it was my wedding and my to-be husband was . . . I gasp when I saw it was a man named Dean Cori the Leader of Ai. Why would my dad do this,” I screamed in my head.
“Summer, hurry up would you dear,” my dad yelling for me put me back in my senses so I made my way up the stairs back to my room.
Trying to calm down I decided the best decision would be do go over to a good friend of mine since I met him when I was a pup his name is Oso. G rapping my satchel I stuffed in it a few basic supplies including my journal and the best gift I ever got from an old friend. A black handmade broad sword made from the remains of a meteorite. Looking into my room for one last time I jumped on to my roof and ran through the air using every last once of my telekinesis skill.
“Summer where are you going,” yelled a high-pitched voice.
Startled I lost my focus and crashed in to a bush while screaming, “Ahh!”
“It’s me Blue-Robin,” he chirped at me.
“Oh, it’s just you bluely,” I sighed in relief as I rubbed my sores from falling.
“Sorry, I gave you a fright, but why were you running?” he looked at me confused.
“I trust you can keep a secret?” I asked.
“I’m ashamed, oh course I can!” Bluely shirked defensibly.
“My father was going to marry me off to Dean Cori,” I whispered in his ear.
“What, that. . . That man . . . Is pure evil. Does your father know what he does to the gifted ones,” he chirped in shocked.
“I don’t think so otherwise I don’t see my father doing something that cruel,” I said in his defense. “that’s why I am running over to Oso’s house to make up a plan,” I said.
“Oh, let me come with you!” he demanded.
“It will be a long time, can your wife handle that,” I retorted.
“well . . . I go and see and I can . . . Met you at Oso’s,” he said hopefully.
“OK then see you their,” I waved good-bye to it as I ran towards Oso’s home on foot.
In a large, hill their lives my friend in an underground home that is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Walking up to the door, I rang the doorbell while tapping my foot waiting for the door to open up.
As the door open up Oso looked at me with surprise and said, “happy birthday Summer, what brings you here,”
I quickly told that I had heard and seen and Blue-robin flew in right, as I was bout to finish, “Summer! I can stay with you on your journey,” he said happily.
“How did you make her let you come with us,” I said.
“I have my ways!” he peeped puffing out his chest feathers.
“Us?” Oso looked at me.
“With all the gifted disappearing I thought you would want to come with us before they came after you,” I confronted him.
“Well . . . I . . . My folks will miss me, and . . . When would we ever come back?” he asked me with confused eyes.
“I . . . don’t know,” I admitted.
“. . . fine I will go with you,” he said after thinking about it.
“What!” I had not expected that answer from him.
“Just give me a minute and I’ll be out in a sec,” he told me as I walked outside to wait on him.
While tapping my foot Oso’s door opened and he was wearing, a purple shirt and his brown robe laced with green string. He had his bag over his shoulder and looked at me with altered eyes then before.
“I’m ready,” he said to me as we walked down the trail from his home towards the sea.
Bluely landed on my shoulder telling me that their was a ship leaving the harbor toward the isle of Ziff.
“Bluely says that there is a ship leaving here to Ziff right now if we hurry,” I tell Oso as we start to jog to the harbor.
“there are post-men everywhere! How to we board?” asked Oso looking at the surroundings.
“Hold that thought,” I said while focusing on one of the crates being boarded to the ship.
Then the crate tips over heading towards the water as shouts were yelled as everyone rush to it.
“Now we get on!” I retorted to Oso as we crept up the plank on board.
“Let’s go in the Cargo level,” Oso suggested as we went below deck among all the different packages.
We soon found a secrete spot near the wall and close enough to a window in case we have to escape quickly. After we got set up, I walked over to the window as the last strip of land begins to disappear from our view.
“Now the real adventure begins,” I thought aloud to myself.
“My parents must be. . . Worried sick by now,” Oso sniffed.
“My dad will be steaming by now,” I agreed with him. “I just hope that horrible Mr. Cori hasn’t done anything to hurt him,” as I grit my teeth at the thought.
The sky put up a dazzling and relaxing display of colors across the sky as the sun began to sink beneath the waves.
Yawning I got my satchel and laid my head on it, closed my eyes and hoped that the future looks bright.

“Boom!”
“My eyes opened my vision blurred as I was picked up by something and thrown by an impossible force. A horrible evil crackle had me stop moaning in pain as I looked up and my eyes widen as I saw Dean Cori and countless others with him laughing at me. One laugh stood out among the rest a girls laugh for sure then . . .”
“Summer snap out of it!” Oso yelled shaking me awake.
“Whatz just happen,” I said weakly.
“You were . . . moaning and shouting in your sleep,” he said with frighten eyes.
Little did I know at the time but that was a short preview of what to come.
