Sipping some of that fresh cold water that felt so refreshing to have as I wiped my mouth clean and but the bottle back in my satchel as I thought, “I wonder what I saw last night or . . . Was It just another dream,”
“What are you thinking about?” Bluely asked me seeing my puzzled look.
“Last night I thought I saw someone spy on me or something,” I answered him.
“What, if the crew finds out we’re here, we will all be in a bundle for sure,” Oso popped in our conversation.
“Yes, but I don’t think it was one of the crew members,” I retorted.
“Well who else could it be?” they asked in unison.
“Rumble,” as the ship gave a big shake.
Thinking about it carefully I also remembered that I also heard a splash as well and responded, “maybe it was some merpeople,”
“Yeah, but they know the creed, no messing with us and we don’t bother them,” Oso retorted at my guess.
“Could they be hired by Mr. Cori,” Bluely chirped in.\
“Maybe it is possible that they are sent by him,” I admitted.
“By whom?” Oso asked.
“Dean Cori, that’s who,” I answered him.
“That is a possibility,” he mumbled off to himself.
“Splash,”
We all turned our heads to the far side of the ship and I whispered,” I think it’s back so lets see who it is,”
We walked quietly to the side we heard it, peeked around the corner, and saw a girl a little taller then me in a long-sleeved shirt and deep-sea blue pants with a sapphire on a black stringed necklace.
She turned and looked at us with startled green eyes as she pushed her blond hair back and said, “Um. . . Hello, um I’m not a stowaway,”
“Sure your just here uninvited, and spying on us,” Oso retorted to her statement.
“Um . . . I wasn’t spying on you!” she said getting peeved.
“But I thought I saw someone of last night,” I said.
“That someone wasn’t me!” she spat.
“We should throw her overboard,” Oso declared.
“Great idea while I tell the captain there are stowaways on his ship,” she snorted.
“Why are you here anyways,” I questioned her.
“It’s . . . complicated, but if you have to know I’m a mermaid,” she sighed and took off her necklace as her legs flashed and morphed into a tail as she fell on the deck.
“So what does that have to do anything with,” Oso unsurprised by her transformation.
Slipping it back on her, she stood up and said, “I want to see the land and experience something new for once,”
Still a little shock with her changing back and forth I gasped, “So. . . Can . . . She stay with . . . Us,”
“What a great idea and I already got all my stuff here for last night,” she cheered.
“So that . . . Was you last night I saw,” I stammered.
“Oops,” she giggled.
“Whoa, no said anything about her being her,” Oso hissed.
“I just did, and I walk over to, “What is your name,” I asked.
“Oh yeah it’s Sky,” Sky told me as I moved all her stuff closer to ours with my telekinesis.
“You’re a gifted too!” she gasped at me.
“Are you?” I asked.
“You got it,” she laughs.
“What!” bluely chirped?
“What are they then,” I asked Sky.
“Well I discovered my first one three years ago when I was 13 and I found out I could see through objects, and my second was I could control things like water, fire, and lighting bout a year ago,” she said as fire danced around her fingers.
“Me and Oso have gifts too that’s why were here in the first place,” I told her.
“Bang,” as a crate fell over from the shaking of the ship.
“What does being gifted have anything with being on a boat?” she asked us as she regains her balance.
“Well we ran away from home together because of a man named Dean Cori,” I admitted to her.
“Who is that,” she asked.
“He is the president of our country but he hates people like us, my other friend Jasmine was gifted with the ability of healing was caught by his men and we never saw her again,” Oso sniffed.
“That’s really bad,” she whispered to us.
“But now is not the time to get caught up in the past,” Bluely chirped.
“Your right Bluely, we need to make a plan for when this ship arrives which could be any day now,” I said boldly trying to lighten up the mood.
“Why,” Sky asked bewildered.
“Because very soon this ship will land in an island off the coast of Ziff where the giants live at,” Oso said.
“That’s not good at all,” Sky, said shivering.
“Maybe we can sneak around when the crew delivers the crates and get a life boat and get out of here,” I offered when my ears pricked up and I heard sound of soft footsteps coming our way. “Hide” I whisper and duck below some crates with bluely on my head.
Two crew members came down inspecting the cargo one of them said, are you sure you heard something down here,” he question the other.
“Yes, Tom I’m sure of it!” retorted the other.
“Maybe it was just a crate falling over from these big waves been seeing,” he guessed.
“It doesn’t matter anyway if there are stowaways they can escape from us,” he sighed as they walked up the deck.
“Phew, that was close, they said were having bad weather so the boat idea might not work,” Oso sighed.
“Maybe I could try to make the storm go away,” Sky said.
“We just met you I not going trust my life on ours,” Oso retorted.
“Me neither,” Bluely chirped.
“Oso, I think this might be our best option, since if we don’t leave this boat well be caught by giants and probably get eaten,” I contemplation.
“Alright, but your on a very, very, VERY short rope,” he retorted as he put his things in his shoulder bag.
“Sky, do you need help with your things,” I asked politely.
“Um . . . No thank you,” she replied.
“Alright then,” as I got all my stuff inside a satchel.
Then Oso walked up to me and declared, “Remember that bird armor well I finished it as well as my boomerang.
“Kind of looks like a snowflake,” I thought looking at it. The boomerang was as long as his fore arm and it’s design looked like a snowflake.
“What do you think,” Oso asked me.
“It’s like a snowflake,” I giggled.
“What? Well I guess so,” he retorted.
“Now what about Bluely’s armor,”
A sliver chest plate laced with blue outlines that tied up to a back plate that would protect Bluely’s insides, and the most beautiful piece a helmet that went on the top of his head that only his beak poked out.
“I love it,” Bluely happily chirp looking down on himself.
“He said he loves it, and I do too,” I told Oso.
“Guy’s were almost their,” Summer said from the window.
We all walked over their and gasp as we saw ten to twenty foot beings lined up on the shore and Oso said, “well that’s hurry can get out of here before it’s too late.”
“Alright,” I said.
“Let’s do this,” Sky whispered as we crept upstairs.
“What are you thinking about?” Bluely asked me seeing my puzzled look.
