So this post is about one of my best memories, that’s a pretty hard decision to make, at
least for me! My life has been very good to me, and I’m grateful for that because I know others
are not as fortunate as I am to have a righteous parents. As many of you know I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (a.k.a Mormons), my dad’s family join the church when He was two and they have been blessed ever since(mainly no more drinking, smoking, etc). My mom side joined the church a generation before she was born and also have receive many blessings from it. What I am most grateful for most in my life is that my mom and dad were married in the Dallas TX, temple and are faithful to each other unlike so many other families in America. In our church we believe that marriage is eternal and that families can be together forever and view marriage in the highest of respects. Because they were married in the Temple I know that we can be family even after death. I’m also very blessed in my life because of their decisions: I was baptized at the age of eight and although I don’t remember much I can not ever forget the strong feeling in my heart I receive when I was baptized. Those of you who maybe don’t like Mormons can say all you want about why were wrong, but you can’t prove my testimony wrong no matter what you do. I’m also extremely grateful for the Book of Mormon which was written for our time, without this book I personally could not go through life’s challenges as nearly as well. I've read it about three times so far and every time I learn something new. Reading about the Nephites trials and how they overcame them helps me tremulously when I have doubts in my mind. They are the sheep which are not of this fold(John 10:16). Our church is the church mention by many prophets that is the last days would rise up in the mountains(Utah) and never again fall(Isaiah 2:2, and Daniel 2:44-45) and Christ’s church will never fall again til the second coming when He himself will reside over it. I’m am most grateful to be a member of Christ’s church.
Lets see . . . how many other happy memories could I possibly have? Reading the entire Harry Potter series in one week and one day was pretty awesome(dusts off sleeves). Learning to play Tuba, Baritone, and Trombone are pretty good as well. Right now I’m reading the Work and the Glory series which is very good, but maybe not as good as Harry Potter. I like to correct people of misheard information about Mormons, it can be sometimes absolutely ridiculous what people in Pea Ridge think Mormons practice, it’s unbelievable! It can vary from polygamy, Satan worshipers, not being a Christian, and yes even baptizing dead people! None of those are true! You could technically say Mormons aren't Christians only if you think that Christians are Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant. We are our own category of Christianity called Restorationism, but don’t worry we believe in the same Christ that died on the cross like everybody else. Even though most of the things I've said are more of a reflection of my life then actual memories, they are without a doubt are some of the most grateful and fun things in my life(besides Mr. Schwartz's class) that I can think of and wouldn't trade them for the world. I have a righteous family and a great burning desire for the gospel and to correct others of misconceptions about it. If you have any things you heard about Mormons you can but it don’t in the comments, but don’t go spatting off how Mormons are dumb deceiving people or what not.
