Today’s youth can now access information as quick as a click of a button. Knowledge about cultures, science, and religion is all out for the public to read. Shadowing alongside this growth of information, plagiarism has taken over our society. Sites such as Wikipedia give out free information on practically every topic one can think of. Many of today’s teens will copy and paste information for a website and claim it as their own. Many school boards across America will not allow a teacher to fail a student because of plagiarism. If a student plagiarizes an important essay that may detrimental to their grade then they should deserve to fail the class. Why should a teacher be forced by the school board to give a student credit to a paper that was not even of his own design. It’s a crime to those that have integrity to do what’s right.
For those that plagiarize, it can lead to them falling to the habit of relying on someone else to do their work for them. That someone is usually the student that actually does his or her’s work. Those that claim the works of others do not deserve any credit for it. It is a crime to those that actually do something in this world. It is morally wrong to allow a student to plagiarize on anything even on something that may be worth hardly anything. School boards should not allow this to happen, even if it causes some parents to throw a hissy fit. Grades can be repaired, but bad habits need to plucked out. Parents have to realize that they can’t allow their child to plagiarize their life. If the parents truly love their sweet baby then they will love them enough to hurt them.
